TMG I2 any good? (queit CPU heatsink&fans)

I'm shopping for a quiet new CPU cooler and the TMG I2 looks good... 16 db noise max says the official info.

Looks like it's good enough for some overclocking too! But that's the ONLY review I've found.

Anyway... any alternatives for very quiet / a little bit room for overclocking cooler?

the one you said i really dont know, but a good cpu cooler very quiet and actually "small" is the Noctua NH-U9B CPU Cooler its a small version of its big brother Noctua NH-U12P, this cooler can fit in a htpc or matx cases so if space is your problem he is good, and also he is pretty silent the fan of NH-U9B has 17 db, but its only 90mm thougth.

Hmm ThermalTake. Not exactly the first brand I'd go for. Tt's sound and airflow information never seems to be correct or corrupt. For example taking a sound measurement of a CPU cooler with the fan seperated from the cooler and measuring at 1m distance instead of the standard 10cm.

I agree with you on the price of Noctua's; they are expensive. However, they are good coolers with premium packaging etcetera, so if you have the money and are willing to spend it I'd certainly recommend them.

What socket do you want to mount the cooler? The Arctic cooler freezer 7 pro could be a good one for skt775, even though it has pushpins instead of something rigid. edit: Ah, AM2(+). The freezer is said to be quite hard to mount on the AM2 clips, so I'd go for the coolers described below

Other good options would be the Scythe ninja (mini) or the Scythe shuriken. Both low profile and priced around the €30 mark in the Netherlands.

The arctic freezer 7 pro is like 24€.

Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME was available too for 29€! Maybe that's what I should get unless it's too big?

My mobo is a miniatx one of course, but my case is a full ATX size one so I can fit high coolers at least.

I've got a asus p5kpl-am and a E5200. So skt775. The freezer is not hard to install on them or?

Get the Freezer 7 Pro, it is dead quiet in idle, although when it is at 100% it is quite noisey. It isn't often that it reaches the 100% fan speed though. You can set this in the BIOS to keep the fan speed down when the CPU is at a certain temperature and only come on at 100% when the CPU hits a certain temp. It's all controlled by PWM as I'm sure you know.

Hmm, but the xtreme is even quieter (and about as good at cooling eh)?

The price difference is low enough to be insignificant.

This is meant to be better than the AC pro. And it is slightly cheaper.

Uh okay... Can get it for a bit less than the Xtreme.

Says 17-30 dba... hmm, some of those coolers, say max 20 db and stuff like that but I've stopped believing in the official info.

But since quietness is what is most important... if the freezer 7 pro is quiet, and arctic themselves claim the xtreme is even quieter (reviews call it silent at idle)... hmm maybe that's still the way to go!?

Hmm I've also heard bad things about the eXtreme... Overpriced, hard to install etc. If you're not into overclocking I'd go for the nice and simple freezer 7 pro.

Personal choice though
