ime ****ed because tiscali has sent me an email saying that their going to manage my god damn bandwidth duruing peak times so i share it with other heaver users who use p2p n **** their "fair user policy" what a load of crap

dont get tiscali internet they are total ****stains their service is utter **** anyway!:ar: lol

soo they did say i can get my mac code and switch providers evewn if ime under contract(which i am still) :)

anyone know good isps that do 2mb or more,unlimited bandwidth for £15-20 a month? i currently was paying £15 for 2mb but i dont want to stay with them anymore

u havent got a chance in hell of getting a true unlimited connection at that speed.

i know idnet,but they are too expensive,they arent unlimited either

what the hell can i do with 2gb of usage lol and 30gb is like £25 a month

unless of course u move to the states and snatch up some 20/2.5 cable for the price of free :p
 
Raging, you'll be hard pushed to top 30gb - i have a very hard time of meeting 10-15gb a month.

Look at it this way: You can either have an ISP with unlimited downloads, but crappy speeds and poor customer service, or an ISP with EXCELLENT customer service, EXCELLENT speeds and a cap that you'll find very hard to reach.

and is that £47 activation fee for real?,cant they wave it because ime an oc3d member? :p

If you get a MAC code from ur existing ISP you can migrate for free. And afaik they do direct debit, but you may need to find out for certain (i pay by card).

Edit: I also forgot to mention the added benefit of being one hop away from all the OC3D game servers - can u say loooooooooowwww ping.
 
Yeah I'm in Wales and my ping is beating XMS' at the mo! I used to have Internet provided by the people I work for, but since moving ISP, I've received a nice reliable connection, good reliable customer service, great speeds (for 1MB) and LOOOW pings! :boink:

And yeah I download a fair bit and connection is being used a lot, my download amounts don't really top 15GB....

my old man said its cool,i have to wait till the end of the month though but it will be worth it!:D

any ideas if i will have to send my equipment back to tiscali atal? because ime using stuff they supplied.

i wouldnt have thought so but just so i know...

Yeah it's more than likely leased equipment which you will need to return to avoid getting mad big fee's.

Some of the guys here can suggest some good hardware for ya though!
 
yep if i do get stuck picking some hardware i will deffo ask you guys:)

Heh, I could fill 30Gb a month easily. 2Gb I could fill in like 4 days. I also download a lot more **** than a lot of people. IDNet does seam to be quite an awesome provider though. Speed is expensive over there, I thought it was expensive here. 6Mbit/384Kbit for about $45 unlimited bandwith is what I have myself.

perhaps not, atleast over here the hardware is either paid for or given away for free BUT its not uncommon to make a 1year contract either.

2 1/2 years ago i had problems with my connection and ended up with a brand new cablemodem as it COULD be a failing modem but wasnt so now i have 2 but one i cannot use, to old.

not more ;)

2gb is what i sometimes download in less than an hour.

30gb i can easily download in a day.

yes i have unlimited bandwidth and cost me 36€ a month for 8/1
 
I am currently with plusnet who have a usage policy which I love.

Its a usage policy that is 10gb peak time usage (4pm till midnight) and unlimited off peak usage (after midnight till 4pm) so if I ever want to download something I just use my home server which is restricted to start downloading at midnight and finish at 4pm. So I never hit the peak time usage and I can use as much offpeak as I want :D . Obviously the pings are not as good as idnet on your CSS server but on any other server I get the normal pings of around 29 - 31ms.

Although I am having a good time at plusnet, My mate is having a nightmare and is changing to idnet in the next few weeks :yumyum:

I dont want to change as I am currently happy with plusnet and would have to pay £67 if I left due to free modem charge (which I sold lol) and activation when I moved house and then obviously the extra £3.50 p/m that idnet charges.
