Tin in loops

Well everyone knows that you shouldn't mix copper and alu in you loops.

Anyone got any idea about tin?

Hehe that was my first thought, a baked bean tin as a reservoir. :D

Are we talking about pure tin here or another metal that's tin-plated?

Anyway, tin seems to be very close to copper and brass in the Galvanic Series so I'm going to stick my neck out and say that you won't see significant corrosion running tin/copper/brass in a loop with just distilled water. Certainly nowhere as bad as copper & aluminium which are much further apart in the Galvanic Series.

trying to run ur water thru a tin of beans to help the colouring?

Bean cooling is a new phenomenon sweeping the industry.

No. Im thinking of what too make a rez out off too stick an evap in too make the water going though it very, very cold:D .

And cheers allsorts!

Since you are aiming for chilly-willy water temperatures you'll probably be using quite a high concentration of anti-freeze anyway, so I suppose a bean can will be ok even though it's tin-plated steel.

What about plastic containers e.g. tupperware, etc. that are designed to store food/liquid in the freezer?
