I think you are over thinking this waaaay to much
Can you really overthink when stipulating?

Maybe you're right.

But again, until I see how this internal overclocking works the price increase seems a little bit much. I'm saying this because it suggests to me there are other factors contributing to the higher price. The 8c/16t CPU supposedly has four iterations. I could understand the automatic overclocking premise better if there were only two CPU's available, but not when there are four. Are there going to be four slightly different clocks for the exact same CPU? It suggests to me there is something more than that. I understand your point. I just find it somewhat hard to believe that we'll be able to buy AMD's flagship for €390. If that's the case the initial rumour of $350 was very accurate. $350 is €390 when you factor in the strength of the USD, the weakness of the EURO, and the VAT of Spain which I think is where the retail who leaked the information is based.
While the 5930K was very popular for its additional PCI-e lanes, the 5820K could easily be overclocked to match it.
As a side note, while I very much appreciate your comment, can I please ask that you stop calling me dude. I don't want to sound like a whiney bitch, but it comes across as more patronising and condescending than friendly. I don't know how others feel about it, but I always cringe when I see it whether it's directed at me or someone else. You're entitled to post what you like; I'm just asking it as a favour.
Yup, we definitely need to see what it does but that will all come with time. The Wraith cooler will no doubt add around £20-£30 too. And as I said elsewhere, if it can basically overclock itself and stay cool and quiet it's perfect for those scared of doing damage by overclocking.
Yup that is why I have a 5820k. I was more than happy to run X8 X8 and did, without too much of a performance penalty.
I don't use the term on any body no. I use it on those who I believe I can have a decent convo with and relax during said convo. I grew up riding BMXs so have always used the term any way. However, I also spent nearly nine years living in the USA. You would die a death of a million "dudes" out there.
So I will work on not saying it to you and you work on your tolerance and I am sure we can meet somewhere in the middle.![]()
Sounds good.
Did you see my comment above? Here's the link to the rumour:

Still catching up
Last night I made my dinner and then fell asleep on the sofa. I woke up four hours later lmao. Must've needed it, but currently catching up whilst watching football and waiting for a guy to come and collect my wife's PC chair.
Multi tasking. Something I am totally turd at.
poorly written article that repeats itself.. I suppose these click-bait articles aren't meant to be read. my fault for clicking on it I guess... cash me ousside when you have something new to add to the conversation, how bow dah...
Excuse me? Have we missed something
Yup just saw that.
I assume you have seen The Shawshank Redemption?
Well, you know the part where Tim Robbins does that deal with the prison guard and earns his pals a few beers. Then sits back smiling with his hands behind his head?
That's me right now. I don't even want Zen (got everything I will need CPU wise for a long time) but I am just happy for others.
I read an article in a mag recently saying that you could build a budget gaming PC with the I3 K in for around £650. That is far, FAR too much for an entry level gaming rig.
I remember when the AMD Tbirds came out, you could bag one for about $120, then overclock it. A gaming PC back then cost around £350 or $450.
I want to see those days again.
As for Andy, he spent that break hunkered in the shade, a strange little smile on his face, watching us drink his beer...You could argue he'd done it to curry favor with the guards, or maybe make a few friends among us cons. Me? I think he did it just to feel normal again, if only for a short while.
