G'day Fellow OC3Der's I am currently running 3 x 1920x1080 @ 5760x1080 when gaming and am thinking about going for either a 29" or 34" 3440x1440 ultra wide screen AOC or LG Monitor and wanted to get some feedback from here first.
So peeps hit me with it what do you think stay as I am or change?
Cheers

Ok then let me ask this question then should I buy an AOC 3440x1440 34" ultrawide or a 27" ROG Swift Gsync panel

I would personally go with the LG screen you linked to in the OP, although the ROG Swift does look pretty nice for a TN panel with the minimal response time and very high refresh rate.

It ultimately boils down to which monitor would be best suited to your personal usage scenario. I usually opt for better image quality, but your needs may differ.

I asked myself the same question and went with the Swift. I'm not saying that's the right choice for everybody but i've not been disappointed. So far i've had 3x AW2210's, a U2713HM and the Swift, it's by far the best and it really isn't your average TN. I actually think losing the vertical viewing angles is a worthy trade off for having no IPS glow. The blacks are so nice.

I don't think I could bring myself to buy the LG when 3xU2414H's would be cheaper but I guess your trying to get away from surround :D I did that too, it took me ages to collect 3 matching Alienwares.

I've been thinking the same of late, I like my triple set up, but the ultra wide monitors look great. I'm leaning towards the AOC, mainly due to using 3, 24's at the moment, and keeping the same brand across the board, just seems the right thing to do.

I've got a soft spot for AOC, so that gets my vote.

Thanks for the replies guys the reason I chose the AOC over the LG is the AOC is cheaper, uses less power and has more height and other adjustments and the Swift is similar only better response time and with me going to the 970's the gsync should be awesome my main things that I do is game and watch movies I don't do any productivity or anything like that and both monitors are around the same price

The TN panel on the Swift is quite good and for your needs it's the best of the bunch. You don't need super accurate colour reproduction and given that you're switching to a pair of 970's, it seems like the most logical option for you.

Yes you may be right Yassar the only thing that's bugging me a little is the advantage that the extra screen width gives you in game as i've been experimenting by gaming @5760x1080 vs 1920x1080 and you really see more enemies off to the side with the wider viewing angle but the setting up of three monitors is such a PITA.
Although that being said it's only more advantageous in BF4 not so much with MWO so hence the confusion but I'm now starting to lean toward the Swift

Think of all the potential HUD stretching and cut scenes with black bars, and all of the stuff won't quite be at the edge. ;) If your not looking for productivity I would personally ignore the 21:9er's Maybe games will be well behaved with them but I doubt everything will.

What did you end up with?

I'm looking at the same. For casual (rage quit) gaming and watching movies I'm leaning towards the ultra wide AOC. I've ordered a STRIX 970 so monitor is next on the list. I love the idea of it being flexible enough to show multiple screens for example a 16:9 and a web browser on the side or full 21:9 cinema mode. One less power cable and one less monitor cable to worry about as well.

I'm not sure my gaming skills are worth taking advantage of the 1ms response time, or 144hz refresh rate - or - is that exactly the time you want a faster monitor? To even out the input lag between my brain and the keyboard?
I play World of Tanks, Elite Dangerous and various filight sims and with a bit of FPS and car racing thrown in. Mostly single player stuff apart from WoT, COD, BF4 etc

I think our internet service (Australia) is the biggest issue and no monitor is going to fix that..

I really do hope 21:9 is adopted by a few more companies. So far I've only seen LG and rebadged LG panels in the wild. The video i've seen of games on them looks great for immersion and a higher take up rate would surely encourage software developers to cater for them.

Think about the first mainstream 16:9 plasmas that came out in the early 2000s I bought one for the world cup in 06. I can recall the frustrations of commercial tv being stuck on 4:3 but these days you couldn't buy a 4:3 set if you tried.

Anyways, just need a thousand bucks now to make it happen. And maybe another 970 down the track. Half the fun is getting there!

Mate I ended up buying the Asus Swift as it seemed the best choice and bang for the buck monitor I cant say how it performs yet but from others on this forum it performs very nicely
