Maybe this was some gamers movement called something like "Free the GPU!". They release all the GPUs that were misused for crypto mining and set them free so gamers can finally enjoy 2018.

Given what mining can put a card through, particularly if its flashed with a modified bios I would rather not be landed with an ex-mining card.
