My reaction to this can easily be summed up by this:

I agree with Mark's last sentence about the fact that this only exists because of the inherent issues with this new connector. Granted, Thermal Grizzly don't design and spec it out, and I will admit, auto shut down is a welcome thing to have; but it seems like the entire industry is just saying: "issues with your power connectors? Just buy more accessories! Oh, and your system can shut down at any point."
 
I'm not interested in these band-aids. I simply won't buy a product that comes with an inherent flaw that would cause irreparable damage to my entire system, or worse.

This isn't like a software issue that you can fix with an update. When you have an inherent hardware problem, the only thing that you're supposed to do is pull the product from the market until the problem is fixed. The fact that this thing is still on the market is freaking astonishing and absolutely should be unacceptable.
