The World's First and Only Mini-ITX Sized X99 Motherboard

It really doesn't need reviewing. It's just so much win for the stupidity factor. I want one.

JR

PS. I told you MSI

Jesus... the dude keeps saying the motherboards full name "dash dash dash" every single time he mentions it, god damn!

I mean, it's not like we don't know which one it is from the first, 2nd or atleast 3rd time he said the motherboards name...

He also says the full length name of each component lol...

Cool little motherboard though, I like mini-ITX motherboards... they look cute :p

Is it just me thinking "lack of power phases"

I get this isnt an overclocking board but its still worrying me a bit

To be honest, I don't see the point of making X99 in such a small form factor... What are the benefits against a Z97 board for example? You lose quad channel, if you go for the 5960X you don't need the 40 pcie lanes anymore, and yeah the board shown in the video has a serious lack of power phases for OC... For me X99 represents the extreme side of computers, if I had the money and the use for such a powerful system, I would go for a full size monstaaaaa setup , not for a small form factor that would make me lose at least half of the capabilities x)

It doesn't make much sense to me either for these same reasons.

Well if it will run a 5960x and you use it for a workstation it could be excellent. Workstations are notoriously big and clunky, so a nice ITX based power house rocking a Titan for DP and you're all sorted in far less space.

How it will run one though will remain a mystery until it's launched. I know Haswell E uses a lot less power than Sandy E and Ivy E though.

But what if you had the money for both? eh, it would be cool then.

It has its use. You could put one in the M8 as the video showcased and pair it with a 290x or a Titan. For some people who go at cons and want to edit their content fast so it will be available instantly this might have a good use, they would only need to carry this, an hdmi cable (because all modern hotels have lcd tvs) and mouse/keyboard

ITX X99 + Titan Z ftw :D.

Loads of things are pointless when you look at them rationally, it's clearly not the point is it.

"Rationale" is not a word that should be used to describe boards like this. I'm with JR23. It's retarded, just like the Asus Impact series, but I still would love to have one just for giggles. I'd never pay for one though.

To me, this is like having a Lamborghini Aventador, chopping eight cylinders off the engine, removing three gears from the gearbox, losing two wheels, and claiming it's better than the original.

It's X99 crippled down to stupid levels to fit a form factor that nobody in their right mind would want an X99 board in.
