The Witcher 3, An Open World on Fire

You can play 3 without having played 1&2 but story wise you will miss out on a lot and things probably wont make as much sense without playing them compared to as if you had.

You are looking at 40-50hrs+ of gameplay for the Witcher 1 and around 30hrs-40hrs of gameplay for the Witcher 2 though :D Actually, there are 2 paths you can take in The Witcher 2 but you can only take 1 per play through. So that's 60-80hrs of gamepaly, if you want to play it fully.

i never played them but witcher 2 did get my attention but never found them at the right price to buy :(

I have only played witcher 2 and am still a little lost for story. i don't quite get what the wild hunt is other than an omen for death kinda like the black pearl from pirates of the Caribbean. The suggestion is Geralt was part of the hunt but then just appeared and was revived in the first game or something :S

Been wanting this game so bad along with Dragon Age inquisition! Both games look badass

edit: Also been wanting, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Yes a LotR game but set before it all took place.

Just watch that gameplay and it sparked my interest in the witcher 2 again, as I hadn't played the first I never got around to getting it now steam has both enhanced versions for £20 I now have a 26gig download :)

Just my luck, though I never look on gog to many old games I use to love playing I could spend a fortune

I only found out about it myself today after Logan from Teksyndicate mentioned it in the latest The Tek on Youtube earlier. I always forget about GoG aswel though for some reason and only remember it when someone mentions it.

don't you know the rules of sales? always wait for it to go on a daily/flash sale, if it doesn't you can still buy it at the last day.

Meh, the prices are so low it's not worth waiting :) I got the Withcer 1&2 for ~£4 from a Gamefly sale a while back though.

just two days ago i bought the humble weekly bundle and LA noire, need to stop buying games for a while but if witcher 1 goes down 75% i won't be able to resist.

E3 trailer hype!

All of my hype and then more hype with extra hype sprinkled on top :p

Pre-ordered it earlier, I wanted the retail collectors edition but it is £95. Might still get it, but I don't know yet.

There was a hidden message in the trailer as well incase anyone was unaware.

We’ve missed you!
Today you got a look at the third trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We hope you liked it!
There’s so much more in this game that it’s just impossible to show everything within two and a half minutes. Still we tried :)
More importantly we just showed you some of the main characters.
Geralt’s close friends and some of the last witchers remaining in the world – Vesemir, Eskel and Lambert – will play a big part in the game, as well their famous fortress Kaer Morhen.
You also got a glimpse of the (?)ned bard Dandelion and the sorceress Triss Merigold.
Emhyr var Emreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, the most powerful man in the world of The Witcher also made an appearance. Recognize his voice?
And then there was Ciri!
And Yennefer!
By the way, if you’re new to the series, don’t worry, the game will introduce you into all you need to know, and you’ll start loving (and hating!) characters in no time!
Also, you’ve been asking us many questions about gameplay features and we’re finally ready to answer some of them – so here it goes:
Yes, you will be able to fight while on horseback
The crossbow. Yup, Geralt can use ranged weapon. Because sometimes monsters fly and you can’t reach them.
Remember swimming and sailing. You’ll be able to dive and search for a lot of hidden stuff too. There’s a whole underwater world to discover.
Horse racing anyone?
You also got to hear more music from the game. This particular track was composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz & Percival. We’d love to hear your feedback. Fire away in the comments or on the game’s Facebook/Twitter/forums. Remember, we’re always listening, even if we’re not getting back to you.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Team
CD PROJEKT RED
PS. If you’re still waiting for more (you are, right?), please be patient. We’re just warming up.
PPS. Have you seen the Collector’s Edition video? What do you think about the figure?
PPPS. We’ve just announced a closed multiplayer beta of The Witcher Adventure Game (?) & let the GOG.com guys (?) you.

I've still got to play the 1st two.

Damn Steam back-logs... :p

I tried to play the first one but the gameplay was just very weird. Now i'm just going to play part 2 and let someone else stream the first one for me.

/edit
The Witcher 3 is 40.99 on Steam, no goodies though. I don't regret getting it on gog.com

I got my TW3 pre-order on gog.com too.

If you have TW1 and 2 already, from a steam sale, get the CD keys and enter them on gog.com.
You will get your steam copies added on gog.com as well, which will allow you to lower the pre-order price on TW3 even more!

For Europeans, we get 2 free bonus codes to buy a 5.99$ game from a list on gog.com as well (codes appear in the confirmation mail from your TW3 pre-order). ;)
