The Windows 10 store version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will not work with the

I am baffled by how unfathomably stupid this is.

I keep wondering why they actively put effort into making the game worse. They could've just not done this, would've been less work and would've made for a better game. Same goes for restricting the framerate and FoV. I'd understand laziness, but this is beyond me. Who pays these people to be counterproductive.

when you buy it on windows remember to buy all your friends a copy, so you will have someone to play with while everyone else is playing on steam

Activision, what the hell, how much money did microsoft dump in your lap to make you consider doing that silly move.

It was really affect the games sales, so doesnt really matter to them. More is more.

People who were going to buy the game will do so either way. Chances are they will just be buying the steam version.

Next thing you know, the Steam version is blocked from running on Windows 10 :D

OR would it be Win 7 & 8

Give it time we know Microsoft want to try and kill Steam but it's not going to work.

I think a lot of game devs like Steam over Windows store, I'm not sure about indy games on Windows store cause one would think Microsoft only wants AAA titles on Windows store.

Funny thing is that Microsoft thinks that COD is a AAA title  maybe 6-8 years ago it was.

A bizarre decision. I wonder how many people will buy or get it bought for them on the windows store then wonder why they can't get online with all their friends ?
I hope they BOTH clearly state that it won't work with the other version on their advertising.

I might be way off. This decision is definately strange, but could it make sense if it were in preparation for PC-XBox crossplay/XBox Play Anywhere kind of thing?
If that's what they're preparing, then Microsoft has every right to keep their servers separate from Steam's and people who purchase from Win10 store will have advantage of playing with their friends from console.
I can see several issues with this; namely keyboard+mouse>controller, but if they restrict multiplayer to controllers only, it could work. People might find workarounds to get keyboard+mouse working so Microsoft will need to figure something out, but it was always a problem they would have to answer if they're really keen to unite console+PC gaming (as much as we're skeptical about it).

This must be the only reason. I cannot see why else they would invest in UWP development when basically every PC player will pick the Steam version of the Windows Store one anyway.

While sales are finally decreasing, unfortunately IW will probably still sell a lot more than CoD4 and CoD2 combined. I wish AAA would refer to quality, but if it did we wouldn't have any AAA fps games left these days.

Didn't they try to do that before and it failed horribly? You can make kb+m work on a console, they have no chance at stopping people from using that on PC.

So, let me see if i understand this. Microsoft has openly claimed they are ready to support cross-platform play between ps4 and Xbox, but they wont even support it between PC and PC? How ass backwards can you possibly be?

Nothing to do with MS.

Not sure if it's that the WUP is too limited, or if Microsoft just don't know how to write code properly anymore. It takes them like, a month, to change the colour of something in Windows, or to add a new icon.

What numpty buys games from the windows store anyway?? Steam has been the gaming centre for pc for over a decade.

I imagine the number of people buying on windows store is tiny and when the hear about this will most likely request refunds
