"The vast majority of DX12 titles in 2015/2016 are partnering with AMD"

Then google it;)
Or get it yourself and see the performance differences, there are plenty:)
I remember when Microsoft paid Crytek to put 'DirectX 10 features' into Crysis. Turns out you could just enable them in DX9 through a few commands. All they did was gimp DX9. DX11 wasn't exactly the most amazing release from microsoft either.

I'm going to stay skeptical until games that aren't being used as a flagship for DX12 are out. I'm more excited about Vulkan and what that will bring to the table. It was a shame about Mantle but I hope it really wasn't in vain.

This hype is doing good for AMD it seems, Fury and Fury X are starting to shift units again. I've been eying up a fury X(or 2 ;) ) and they've appeared to really shoot off shelves these last two weeks.

Oh I agree on being skeptical. But so far the game in DX12 is showing improvements which should calm everyones nerves. I noticed huge differences in DX12 after playing it(not benchmarking it) after coming from 11. The ONLY thing we don't really know is how much of DX12 features(like tiers) they are using to improve the game. They claim they are using as much as possible but we can't really be 100% sure. We obviously know Asnych Compute and Support for AFGPU(currently not working atm though but is in the settings) is there but other things we may not know about. Also what makes it more confusing is not all GPUs support Tier 3 of DX12 so even if they were using Tier 3, only Fiji I believe truly supports it. Don't know if they would go that far to get it working, if they did it would be for next gen GPUs.

I was eyeing the X2 also, but couldn't wait and get a Fury X:D

Without Mantle Vulkan wouldn't have been possible. Mantle provided the base for Vulkan.

Yeah Vulkan is basically Mantle but modified afaik. Since mantle was basically given to Khronos.

SPS, do you know if DX12 is somewhat using any parts of Mantle? Or something along those lines? Figured you would know since your in the industry and deal with APIs all the tiem:)

No idea tbh, it's not something I've looked into. I only know that about Vulkan because they said it in the GDC video this year.

I know. I meant I was hoping Vulkan will do well so that Mantle was more than just a wakeup call for DX12.

Gotcha :)

Hopefully. I was never much of an OpenGL fan but the plans that are in place for Vulkan seem much better thought out this time.
