Releasing a PS5 in 2020 would be about right.

People forget that the PS4 has been around since 2013, same as the Xbone.
 
So long as it is all backward compatible then they could release it now tbh.

I think that's 1 thing the Sony lose out on Xbox has 500 older games now playable with out paying extra, I doubt Sony will make the next PS any better, why do for free what you can charge for

From what I understood the switch to X86 finally meant full back catalogue support. If the PS5 is Ryzen with Vega then it should literally be back compatible, and all devs need to do is basically disable certain graphical features per console. Very, very easy to do, literally a couple of lines of code.

Which IMO is good. Because through several means I can play ANY PC game from ANY time period. Which is why I have a PC. I don't like seeing classic games lost through incompatibility or having to own a big old lump of a console just to play a few classics.

And I truly hope this is the path M$ shall tread too.
