The MEGA iPhone Jailbreak Thread!

So I figured I'd start a thread revolving around iPhone jailbreaking and different things you can do with a jailbroken iPhone. I'm sure we have other forum users that use the worlds greatest phone.

Anyhow, for those that don't know, Jailbreaking has gotten much easier and much less complex since the early days of jailbreaking the old 2nd gen phones. You can no just surf to jailbreakme.com from your iPhone and swipe your finger to jailbreak, it's literally that easy.

I've been on the hunt for good iOS4 and iPhone 4 compatible tweaks and hacks and have a pretty decent break going.

My favorite apps are Installous (free App Store apps), Winterboard (icons, themes, and other visual tweaks), SBSettings (quick switches to enable/disable core phone functions such as Bluetooth, WiFi, etc), Iconoclasm (ability to change how many icons are visible on each page and lets you choose different icon patterns), 5 icon dock (1 extra icon for your main dock), My3G (spoofs WiFi apps in to thinking your 3G connection is WiFi so you can do things like FaceTime and watch HD YouTube videos while on 3G), MyWi 4.0 (3G mobile WiFi hotspot), Intelliscreen (adds info to your lock screen, I have weather, SMS, and email setup for the lock screen).

Those are my favorite apps thus far. I check Cydia about every other hour to see if anything new has been released for iOS4.

Who else is all about the jealbreaking awesomeness?

Jailbroke my iPhone 3G using redsn0w (before jailbreakme was released). SBSettings is a must have for jailbroken iPhones, so easy to use! And Winterboard allows me to enable multiasking and wallpapers if I want it. Much easier than having to re-jailbreak with redsn0w.

Hopefully will be picking my iPhone 4 up at the end of the month

I'm patiently waiting for sinful iphone to crack the newest version of Shrink. I'm too cheap to pay the $1.49 for it, LOL.

My old iPhone 2G was jailbroken, but I haven't felt the need to jailbreak my iPhone 4 yet.

Huh? Winterboard doesn't touch Multitasking for me. And I can't get it to change my wallpaper either since the 4.0 IOS update. Mine is a sn0wbreeze one though. Mainly because I suffered with the old iTunes 1006 error and sn0w was the only one I could get it to handle.

If anyone has a way in which I might alleviate my issues and bring forth the multi-tasking wallpapery goodness perhaps they might be kind enough to send me some info. (ipsw links gratefully received hehe).

I just wish Cydia wasn't HIDEOUSLY slow.

Yeah SBSettings rocks.

I had my 3GS jailbroken but it stolen so I got on the iPhone 4 jailbroken through jailbreakme.com.

That Comex is a clever dude.

Also one of the main reasons I jailbreak is for Backgrounder... A million times better than Apples not so great implementation of multitasking. Backgrounder is pretty much perfect for radio apps that haven't got the new iOS4 multitasking sorted out and also for games so you don't lose any progress.

Haven't really bothered with Winterboard this time yet.

Yes, it's like $5 on Rock, and MyWi 4.0 is $20 on Rock. However, thanks to the great people at Elpelle6 and Sinful iPhone, you can get cracked, 100% free versions from their repositories.

Sames goes for Iconoclast and Intelliscreen.

Just decided to stick Winterboard back on.

Can you think why the lockscreen themes aren't working properly for me? I get the slider saying what it should, but the background doesn't change.

Also Intelliscreen just crashes straight out as soon as I try and open it. Read the Sin forums and they say it doesn't work on iOS4 on IP4 but you have it no??

Guess I'll just go for LockInfo instead.

Iconoclast just had a blank screen when I opened it from settings too.. Not too fussed about that one though.

Edit: Oh yeah, just found something on Sinful I've been looking for. A hack to disable iOS4 multitasking.. Yay.

Intelliscreen has been updated to be ip4 compatible, not sure what the deal is with it not working for you. Same with iconoclast.

Got LockInfo installed now with a few pluggins and have spent a while today configuring it how I like. It's pretty good actually.

Not really fussed about Iconoclast..

Ok so I've SHH'd it over and installed it via iFile and it just crashes out too... Very odd.

Ahhh well. Such is life.

EDIT: Even odder, it's resetting my time to 00:00 on Friday 16th July 2010... Even when I change it, it just goes back!
