The MARS II

Not worth that much of anyone's money. Its going to be outdated too fast to invest so much into it. Does look nice though

Besides unless you are running a SR2 mobo with dual Xeons at 3.5ghz + you will bottleneck the hell out of it. I dont think a i7 2600k at 4.5ghz does 4 gtx580s (especially overclocked) any justice.

Meh i just saw this on pc case gear for $1700 AU.

I bought my GTX580 Super Overclock for $599. By the time i'm ready to buy my second one, they will be cheaper. And from the box its 855mhz core clock, and i have it running at 930. If i have two Super Over Clock GTX 580 running at 930, i've saved a lot more money and probably making more power the Mars II will seem like a big waste of money from then.

You guys are missing the point... The Mars isn't ment to be cheaper then 580's in SLi. The reason ASUS makes it is purely for prestige and marketing. People who buy this sort of cards wont notice any change in their life because they're rich enough anyway...

Very small market segment - like the Bugatti Veyron?

It's nice to see what Asus can do, but in my eyes pointless due to the high price £400 more expensive than 580 Sli, and £1200 for this card is the price of a pretty decent gaming rig

I'd spend the money and just buy a 590 or 6990 and buy a waterblock for it then oc the nuts off of it

You know, I *like* the fact that companies bring crazy products like this to market, but it is really just a marketing thing. Basically "Look what WE'VE done, the MOST EXPENSIVE and FASTEST twin GPU card available today...blah blah" this is cool and all, but those of us with even the smallest amount of the Value For Money sense are not going to be looking at this card - well, other than to point and laugh really.

What I would like to see come to market are BARE versions of high-end cards, that way I can order it, order a water block, and not have to p1ss about removing the old cooler. Still, you'd get people frying them but trying to run them naked if someone did that...you know it lol.

So, even for my next rig, no thankyou

Scoob.

It'll be out of date by the time of your next rig anyway
