The IDLE temps

Just built comp YAYAYAYA!!!

Just loaded up and Speedfan says the cores are at 38-55c, this is idle.

I then load up the official application with the MOBO, and it says CPU 9-15c, which once is correct?

Speedfan says each core, the application with mobo says just CPU.

Take a look, what's up? I think the heatsink is seated correctly, the case is absoloutely tiny with this GFX card in lol.

What should I do about the temps? I have enough cooling tbh, I think I need to invest in my water asap.

I have 3 fans in the case, one on the PSU and obv heatsink.

120rear

another big I don't actually know size (18cm around)

and another weird sized one @ front (15cm)

CPU standard heatsink

Surely this should give better idle temps .:nono:

I'll just fire off some questions that will hopefully help us narrow down the problem.

Is this with the stock heatsink?

What are the load temperatures like?

Exactly what thermal compound are you using, and how much of it?

Maxes out at around 60c

3. OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Conductivity, evenly spread a very thin layer.

I wouldn't be worried about low 50's. To be honest with ya' mate, those are perfectly fine for the stock heatsink.

okay cool cheers mate , just suprised because with my first rig I had 25c idle and around 35c load . This was on stock heatsink, btw why does it say that the temp for CPU is different? What is this temp actually showing?

No probs. I'm here to help.

About overclocking, I wouldn't attempt it until you have an aftermarket HSF. If you do it with the stock heatsink, chances are the temperatures will heighten abnormally, perhaps causing damage to the CPU, and you don't want that to happen.

Oh and the 'CPU' temp signifies the general temperature of the CPU, which is normally nothing to be worried about.

the max load with prime95 full FFT with stock heatsink with mine was around 51c, and also in your screenshot it only shows it at 53% load?

Has gone up to 63 now, running game @ full...

Gonna resit heatsink tomorrow, apparently can be a few things. I might of been a bit tight with the thermal .

To get load temperatures, you can just use a program like Orthos.
