Do the big players (Twitch, YouTube, maybe Azubu or Hitbox) do this? Never heard of that.
I don't know how Hotspot Shield handles it, but all your traffic is then sent through the VPN, resulting in a bad experience for you and your viewers anyways. I have used Hotspot Shield in the past, but can't remember if I got major slowdowns.
