The Hobbit!

So any of you guys seen it yet? It was almost as good as the LOTR movies, there weren't as many "-snip- YEAH!!" moments, but it was epic nonetheless. A new story was also a welcome change. :)

Yeah, saw it on Friday - it's great :)
Just like the books, it's a lot more light hearted and humorous than the LotRs and quite a bit easier to get into. I think it'll be a great way to pique my friends' interest, grooming them into wanting to watch the other movies - i've tried and failed on many occasions to get them to watch it :(

i have seen it and was very impressed. i was pleasantly surprised by how well paced it was, given how little of the book it covers and all additions to the main story were all excellent add-ons (these are essentially all scenes without bilbo for those that haven't read the book)

Was pretty good, the others will be better though I reckon, like how the LoTR films were.

Seeing it in 48 FPS was weird though.

That's out ! ? Defiantly will be hitting the cinema's asap then !... TOM if your out there we need to see this film !

My one gripe is that the characters looked more computer generated than in the other movies. I mean, it was still good, but it was as if they didn't put in quite as much effort as before.

That'll be the increased fps it was filmed in, your brain isn't used to it. Also this means that shots that would normally be blurred, are very clear.

Seen it last night and its amazing once you get used to the higher frame rate. Less blurred in 3D and you can tell how far CGI has come since the first movie. They did a good job of fitting in the non book related story as well. Its been awhile since I have read it and had to really think about what was new.
