And yet you already have an 1080 yes?![]()
Well you should know what Dice is like now ^_^
Even tho if he does own a GTX1080 he will end up upgrading to a GTX1080Ti ^_^
He did it with the GTX900 series lol
And yet you already have an 1080 yes?![]()
Difference is that the 980ti was a crap load better than the 980![]()
The same can be said of the Pascal Titan compared to the 1080 but there really is no room in the middle for another card.
My guess is NVidia will turn over the Pascal Titan chip for Ti production at some point then launch a full fat GP102 Titan.
Or release a new Volta Titan this time next year and nab another $1200 from those that have to have the best...The same can be said of the Pascal Titan compared to the 1080 but there really is no room in the middle for another card.

There really is.
They'll give the 1080 Ti the same amount of CUDA cores as the original Titan X so it's still around 500 ahead of the 1080 and it will be a good chunk lower than the fully enabled GP102 so the e-peeners will be kept happy ^_^
The difference in performance between an overclocked Pascal Titan and 1080 is about 30%. There is no room for another card between them.
No one is going to pay big money for a 15% increase over a 1080 and still not have the top card.
Well people are paying 1200 a pop for the TX and we all know that isn't the fully enabled GP102 card and Nvidia will bring out a fully enabled Titan down the line so I'm pretty sure there are people out there that will spend the moolah for a card in between the 1080 and TX
Maybe a card that is 15% better than the 1080.
We'll see but I'm actually more excited about Vega![]()
The problem is the 1080 is so overpriced that it makes the Pascal Titan almost look reasonable.
If NVidia tried to bring out a card between the two they would be charging about £850 for 15% more performance which would be a total joke.
Or we would see the 1080 drop in price and the "Ti" variant be sold at the original 1080 price.
Or maybe the 1080 and Titan XP are the only 2 high end cards we'll get from Nvidia on the GP102, No one really knows![]()
They are not going to drop the price as they are selling plenty already.
1080 is GP104
I know I meant that, Forgot to put "and".
None of us know what Nvidia will do though, Unless someone here actually works for Nvidia all we are doing is "Well maybe, Possibly, I hope" etc...
What we do know is if a business has no competition and is selling loads of product then it won't lower it's prices.
Yes, but we also know that nVidia likely won't release the 1080ti, if they do, until Vega has been demonstrated. And then there will be a reason to drop the 1080 price as Vega will be out or on its way out. So the 1080 could drop to $600 and the 1080ti could be released at $750.
I agree with this but ATM no Vega no change from NVidia.
I think the Ti when it does appear will be the same chip as the Pascal Titan and there will be a new version of the Titan using a fully enabled chip. This will mean NVidia won't have to squeeze a card in too small a performance gap.
So that would put the new Titan as more expensive than the one we have now. That basically means anyone who has just spent $1200 on a GPU will, within a year, have paid a gross amount of money for a GPU that now holds the rank of 'X80'.
