im watching the 20min ingame video of morrowinds obliviin.. anyone interested in insane gaming.... or rpgs(and even if you dont like rpgs) do yourself a favor and watch this

both are fully legal torrents, i suggest the avi as it is smaller... and is truly stunning.... you get the idea well enough... but you can get the dvd if you wish to see it uncompressed
 
i just finished watching it and i dont think there is any other non shooter game ever that ive wanted to play more than this

its a game that cant possibly go wrong...
 
im downloading the dvd version now... will post some screenies then... but the impressiveness is not the fully alive forest engine, where they studied everything down to how rocks grow... but its how its just perfect.. example.. no exp... you get better at what you do.. it has a realtime fighting engine that melds magic, melee, blocking which doenst sound as cool as it is. you have FULL FREEDOM which is not a new concept to morrowind players but this is a game where you can be as evil or as noble as you wish... you can rob people, break into taverns or trade centers, etc etc...the video just showcases the beautiful HD graphics with real soft shadows that fall 100% like they would in real life.... showcases things like archery... where you can shoot something and retrieve your arrows afterwards.... which is awesome... oh yea and the arrows are actually removed from teh quiver like they would in real life... in this game you will be hard pressed to find a limit to the realism.. even getting quests... you get them not by just talking to some stationary guy with something over his head... but you overhear something... then your log is updated with more info... then you can ask someone for more info till you have enough to go questing.... and... AND... none of that 10 million mile running crap.. you can just select a place on your map... like you can in guildwars... and appear there instantly
 
This will be fuckin r0x0r... Will they turn it in to a MMO?

I play mad EQ2 but this new Morrow sounds like it would be so fuckin pwnage in MMO format.
 
the reason i have yet to post screens is because the avi doesnt do it justice and the dvd is a shitty torrent... hopefully in 10 hours when i get home it will be done

i imagine the site screens will be good enough

and its not an MMO... thats one thing they have not done... it will be an awesome game regardless... i think we are a ways away from a game this good being an MMO since they tragically have issues with hacking, performance, redundancy, etc etc... i imagine a game of this caliber may have issues and really high prices if it were made online... but give it a look... i hate offline games but will love... LOVE this

Indeed, I got hooked on the first one for a good month or so straight sitting on front of the Xbox.

But, now that I dont own a console it shouldnt be a problem :)
 
This looks like the game that will get me back into RPG games. Used to play Black and White (God RPG) for a while but not played one since as don't like the online element of MMORPG's: especially those that need a subscription :)
 
i love one element of the online ones... real people...but i too dont like the cost and im getting annoyed with the downfalls... i like sleeping in the day... the main time i play is night and us servers suck for that... at least the ones i always choose... and mmorpgs are always games that wouldnt stand at all if it werent for their online aspect... im sorry but WoW, City Of Heroes, and EverQuest are games that offer an online experience that many like but all would be TRULY boring offline as the stories, the acting, the graphics, are all shit. The technological achievement that this game represents is equal to that of HL2 imho. I mean the radiant AI, sounds great in concept, and I will be playing three toons side by side with warrior, mage, and thief leanings on each so I will see how it differs. Also I love the fact that everyone can do everything... no exp, no "archetypes" means that you have options... i love options.. i hate having to pick and be stuck... Also yet another great rare feature is the ability/right to kill whomever you want in the game. its just a really well rounded game imo. i didnt like the xbox morrowind much... probably because it was like 7 bucks when i bought it because it was so old and the graphics were just too bad for me to accept. It was fun but I cant handle old games.... they bother me too much.. thats why i just became a true gamer with the recent slew of games.
 
screenies are gimped for now... photobucket shrunk them... also they are screenshots of a dvd that is of an HD game... so you can imagine they dont do justice... seriously watch the video... ive watched it several tiem and new things catch my eyes... liek the lightning in the ruins of Kvatch... wow... just wow... now these suck but im too tired to find a better method of hosting... i was falling asleep as i edited them

magic, melee, and defense are all one engine, this is a magic block towards its end, he is lowering the shield at this stage but i wanted a shot fo the guy floating and attacking.. it looks screwy because it is a bad spot to pause at

cheers... seriously... these dont begin to give justice to the game...

ok i will upload them to the sx server... they will just be a little bigger though as i didnt want to take a screenie of them scaled....

gah.... the shrinkage is here too... well not so much but the 250 kb limit is the same... so i need to compress them... grrrrr.. ::wonders/wishes gimp had a batch compress::
 
Nope there is no limit like that mate. Go to http://upload.sysxtreme.com/ and upload all you want on there. One at a time is faster, but I've been known to upload 4files at a time and it work (BIG images too).

I've uploaded 2mb+ of files to SX Uploads and its been fine :)
