The First Upgradeable Graphics Card..

That design is fuckin weak... I thought maybe they mounted a gpu on its own pinned wafer or something and then would release different GPU's or something. But nope, this is a jacked up idea, using 2 video cards on one video card? Gimme a break, so gay.

Not to mention the exorbitent price for mobile video cards. The whole idea behind a card like this is to make it less expensive to upgrade, not 4 x the price of just replacing the card.

I laugh at you MSI!

its a good concept but would never take off, may-b if the actuall card itself was smaller and not like a jumbo jet maybe, and they thought about cooling and attaching hsf's etc,

if they rethought the card, id buy it :(

Fragteks right, If some companys is going to make an 'upgradeable' Graphics card it shold be like a mini montherboard, with a GPU soket that is standardized (so you could chose any graphics chip you wanted, unlike the AMD and intel skts). The socket could be advanced when the extra pins are nessicary and everyone would just buy a new PCB and chose the new type of chip they wanted. And then ram slots. Perhaps the ram slots could be detached form the card and connected by wires or somthing so your card dosnt end up the size of a small town.

This idea woul probbly take up rediculous amounts of case space and cost the earth however...:banghead:

It's just the ridiculous idea that they took two small video cards and put them on one gigantic video card and then said "Hey look you can upgrade it!". What they forgot to tell you is that if you want to upgrade it's going to cost over $1000 and that you'll have a fuck of a time finding a pair of the cards you want.

Maybe someday we'll get at trualy upgradable gfx card, doesn't look like MSI is going to hit the mark any time soon with that design, lol.
