I think it looks awful, a real example of what the world has turned in to and I don't want that in games, I play games to avoid that kind of BS.
By that I mean the whole, TikTok, Instagram stuff.
I won't be playing this one at all!
I totally understand what you mean. I find all that stuff kinda gross too.
But that's GTA down through the ages. Rockstar said that when they were developing RDR2, they were glad it wasn't GTA VI, because the social norms at the time were painfully awkward for them to adapt and poke fun of.
Maybe they still feel that way but have had to bite the bullet and give the masses what they want. They want tweaking, nudity, graphic violence, meme culture, teenagers trying to look like adults in TikToks, swearing, drugs, people want all this. GTA is one of the most popular game series of all time because people get to live a debauched life vicariously through completely immoral characters.
The reality is, in my opinion, if you don't like the TikTok stuff (which I totally get), why would you like the graphic violence and sexuality? It's been par the course for these games for decades.
What image are people mostly copying from the trailer? The girl with fake boobs on a boat. Not gameplay but half-naked girls. What gameplay did we actually see? Not much, if any.
Yet the the video has 127m views on Rockstar's page right now. It's shaping up to be the biggest game of all time. If you took out all the nudity, would people be as amped? If you took out the twerking?
I only know a few small communities who play GTA because of its sandbox nature. Many people want to play it because they want to live vicariously through the insane eyes of another sex/violent-addicted Trevor. So to me, the Insta-Tok stuff is just another part of the grossness.
And isn't that what gaming is all about? Living vicariously through someone else, whether you're driving a truck, building a city, shooting people, or warding off monsters with magic.
