The Epic Games Store Starts its first Summer Sale with Insane discounts

Sure, I'll take John Wick Hex for under a fiver.

Thanks for letting us know about this. I know the Epic Games Store is a massive source of controversy right now, and possibly rightly so, but I won't overlook a great discount when I see one.

I was referring to Sweeney's tweets considering the OS (switching to Linux is like moving to Canada, escaping issues without fixing them) and the fact that EAC Linux development got halted the moment Epic bought Facepunch.

That was about personal users switching to escape Windows problems though.

EGS(Well, the dev team) have been actively supporting efforts to get the store working on Linux, as well as assisting in getting their games working via proton, while Sergey Galyonkin, the director of the Epic store(And creator of Steam Spy), has been putting out feelers for more Linux devs for a month or two now. It's definitely happening, they've just obviously got a lot of other stuff to do first, they've been discussing it on Twitter for months.

Will have to check out the games on offer.

I don't get all this hostility to Epic though I really don't.

It's the word exclusive, See before the epic store steam didn't need to put exclusive before the game even though the chances are it was exclusive but with no competition you don't need to say exclusive

If it's literally only because of some games being "exclusive" then wow this world is in a far worse state than I thought it was :(

I don't remember hearing such a fuss about EA doing it, when they started only releasing the games on Origin.

Valve has been the worst company on the PC iirc for exclusives, I remember the days when you could actually buy a game and not be required to have Steam installed on your pc to be able to play it.

I can also remember the days when you could buy a game for the pc and after maybe a week or so, decide I don't like this I am going to sell it.

Now you cannot play I think 99% of pc games without needing at least Steam or some other launcher on your machine, and then if you don't like it wow you have a massive fight to get your money back because you simply just cannot sell it.

Now if Epic were/are doing some shady stuff like what Valve did with iirc DLC for Crysis 2 where again iirc they told EA they couldn't sell it anywhere else but Steam, then I could understand but if it really is just because they want some games to be exclusive to there platform then I am sorry but it's rather pathetic to be hating them, for wanting to make the platform larger when Valve did exactly that with games like COD and others!

I am sure someone can create a couple of scripts and find all the exclusives on every store-front and sort through them and I can bet with 100% certainty Steam will have probably a few thousand % more than the next closest store-front.
