Simply because a single 50+ db fan is one loud motherfucker....

Listen to this Delta EHE 80mm fan (5700rpm, 80.2cfm) - http://www.fragtek.com/downloads/delta80fan.mp3

Tell me that wouldnt be annoying as fuck? Not to mention they have fans now that are even louder than this sucker, I feel sorry for all who buy fans this loud :bootyshak

50db at 80mm is much higher pitched and technically louder than 50dba at 120mm :D

Actually.... TECHINICALLY they're exactly the same if they're both 50db, lol... The pitch may be different, but as far as loudness goes, they're both the same if they're both 50db.. duh!

hahaha frag u suck, my 100cfm silverstone is 3000rpm and 44dba :p

Rofl... I didn't buy this fan, I'm just making everyone aware that 50+db fans are teh gh3y!

The pitch is more of a concern than volume. Any fans that ring or have some gay ass high pitched pattern going on are way worse than a loud fan that has a constant low pitched sound.

use a fan controller for the noisy fans

so when you sleep you can turn it down or off

That's what I have setup, I knew that was going to be a key component... If I had to leave my 6 panaflo's on full speed all the time I don't know if I could handle it, lol.

After hearing it for myself I see what you mean

I left my case running last night in my room to get accustomed to the new amount of noise and light coming from it and it didn't have any effect on my sleeping habbits, so that's all good in the hood!
