The beast!!!

i don't even know what to say. you got that thing with literally no cable management and a tarzan ssd but want to build PCs for a living? jesus

I agree with this. Theres no way you should be building rigs for anyone else till you can build a good one for yourself.

Its not just about choosing parts thats the easy bit, its about how you fit them and make it all look.

If I were you Id rip it all out and take your time making it look perfect, the boys here will rip you to bits more about making it look nice more than using old or low spec hardware.

I dont get how thers even possible to make such a mess in that gigantic case, theres a shit load of space to make it tighty, even with a non modular psu.

There is quite literally nothing that I can say which has not been stated already, so i'll simply sum up what I was going to say quickly:

1. CUSTOMERS want good looking rigs. If you are attracting business, you need to show that you can make good looking rigs. A good (perfect?) place to start is with your own.
2. Building by iteration is a good practice, if you are low on funds, but it can lead to issues when you plan too far in advance, or if you CONSTANTLY iterate over the build. This can lead to your little pet project costing you significantly more in the long run.
3. The keys to a tidy rig: time, patience, and a case with reasonable room for cable management (you definitely have the third of these down).
4. Not trying to level a personal attack here, but your attitude kind of stinks to me of "close enough is good enough". If you were a person just building your own rig, I have no issue really with that: it is after all YOUR RIG. But you're planning to build rigs for others? With that attitude? As a business? Even if I were not capable of building my own rig, I would not go to you: I would look for someone who is going to do it PERFECTLY to meet my needs, and my specifications. In business, near enough IS NEVER good enough. (Hints of your attitude: pics of your rig with the hanging SSD, "If you want to move it, go ahead but I'm too lazy", etc.). Examples of the type of people I am referring to in this: Singularity Computers, and of course, our very own TTL (even though he doesn't do customs really any more). Look up Orca as an example. Look in the Project Logs section of these forums.

I'm sorry to be this abrupt with you on this, and I hope you take it for what it is: an attempt to help you fix up your game BEFORE you learn through financial loss (be it business folding, being sued for some electrical thing or whatever else) that you simply can not do this type of thing in business.

its done, i spent 4 hours on cable management and alot of cable ties were used, it does look much better now, but i do hate the way the drives mount in this case. so i have ended up with to bottom fan pointing sideways and the top fan pointing towards the heatsink, this might ruin my temps but i dont think it will effect them too badly.

here are some images of the re-cable managed system.

oh and by the way i removed my opticle drive, 1. beause it was a pain in the arse to make the cables look alright, and 2. i never use it

and yes i know the 24pin is not plugged in, i knew this when i tried to turn it on (im such an idiot) but she lives and is acctually louder than normal, or that might just be my ears adjusting to the noise after it being of for about 12 hours.

btw guys, im 14 btw, so give me some credit! and i also couldnt find this section of the forum and thats why i said i couldnt be arsed moving it. and thanks for all the constructive critism, it has helped me realise my attitude and hey i evn done some housework (thats a big step in my mind) :)

a heck of a lot better than before. i am glad you took our advice instead of getting pissed or something like that. of course there is room for improvement, but improvement will come over time.

improvement requires modding this case or getting something that doesnt have the silliest drive mounting system in the universe

my case is horrible for cable management as well, still it looks a lot cleaner than yours. i might take a pic for you tomorrow, my cam is too bad to take proper pics at night. if you plan your cables before you start putting everything together it becomes a lot cleaner.

Can't do anything but agreeing with this. Looks much better than before.

You can take a look at my gallery if you want (think you already did). We have the same case and there are some tricks that can be used to hide cables, like running the front I/O cables through the CPU cutout and pushing your left-over cables next to the HDD cages.

I don't have the best cable managed rig it the world either, but at least it looks pretty clean from the front and most people (like me) don't reaally care about the back of the motherboard tray. That's just if you want an award for how tidy the pc is ;)

Good that the crowd here didn't frighten you too much and that you took the advice to heart. Oh, and (an overdue) welcome to the forums mate :)

do you even have a mechanical drive?

and your SSD isnt mounted properly!!!

Yep, you can see it fitted two bays below the optical drive in the picture where all the front panels are taken off (right above the top fan). I got a 5.25" to 3.5" adaptor and that way I could use both front fans as an intake without compromising airflow or cable management.

My SSD is taped to the side of the HDD cage. It's not the most beautiful mounting job in the world but at least it's stuck in place. The beauty of SSDs is, as you said, that it doesn't matter what way you mount them. As long as you don't leave them hanging from a cable! At least this way it's mounted securely and out of sight.

EDIT; @Jackson, indeed it was.

Now that's a lot better!

Also, I have the same case and have my mechanical drive and SSD in the bottom bay. Both of my bay thingies, top and bottom are the same way, bringing air in through the front.

In my rig gallery there is a pic showing this. Just put the cables through the side of the bay/drive mount things :)

Again, it looks a lot better! ^_^

(I hope this isn't breaking rules, if it is then mod please remove this P.S comment)
P.S - Are you in the UK and do you have a spare front bay cover laying around you no longer need. If so post in the for sale section or reply to my wanted ad :)

Thank god you finally tidied the rig. If you really are planning on building pc's for people you need to adjust your attitude. I have been building pc's for people/clients for over 5 years, no matter what the build you always have to act professional.
Before you even decide your future builds (which is just a waste of money and time) i'd highly suggest you buy a modular power supply.

Good job, and thank you for not taking the criticism as a personal attack.

Oh, and welcome to the forums! :hello:

Well I wouldn't buy a PC from you looking at that (no offense), but a SSD just hanging off the wire? If a PC came to me like that I'd beat your ass with the side panel.

It does look like you've gotten excited when your hardware was delivered and couldn't wait to try a game so just chucked everything in and hoped for the best.
