The Advertisement of The Power Mac G5

On eBay they seem to advertise the Power Mac G5 as a massive great big monster of power computer when the truth is it barely beats a Pentium 4

Its not fare to the consumer who is looking to buy something that doesn't lag at running flash and something that doesn't sound like a jet engine when running flash.

The Power Mac may run as a nice machine but lets face in all ways its coming to an end.

The Dual Processor 1.8GHz Power Mac G5

Only just beat a Intel Pentium 4 Hyper Threaded CPU at 2.4GHz.

eBay needs to crack down on this as lets face it, It is wrong that people are paying upto £500 for a piece of crap computer.

Sadly i dont think there is much you can do about it.... But hopefully people will be sensible and look up the computer before buying such a machine ;]

When my mum was looking at getting a computer she nearly paid £300 for a Pentium D machine with 1gb of ram because it was advertised as if it was a 3930k with 64 gb of ram

If you think that is bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. I have seen pentium 4 PCs with a Nvidia 8800 GPU sold as "the ultimate gaming rig that will beat any modern gaming rig" for £100,000. The sad thing is though people who don't know better will buy it and get massively ripped off.

You need to learn what false advertising is. saying "IT IS A MONSTER OF A COMPUTER" is NOT false advertising, it is someones perspective. Yes it is not a 'monster' compared to most others on this forum but it may be to someone who has a 25 year old computer. Ebay does not need to crack down on anything here because this is nothing to crack down on. The person is selling a product, do you also suggest we crack down on auto ads that say something like "Bringing the sports car back to the car" as in the new Scion FR-S? When we know it does not even compare to a Ferrari 360 Spider?

If we cracked down on this there will be no more salesmen in the world.
