Temperature Monitoring Tool

Basically I want to keep an eye on my Q9450, see if the watercooling was worth it. I can measure the temp of my WC 8800GTS with nTune, but is there anything for CPUs that can give the temp found in the BIOS? I have had a few issues with ASUS's monitoring tool in the past (and apparently its pretty dire) so does anyone know of any good accurate ones?

Coretemp is a fave, Everest (if you can still find a free version), Speedfan and Intels TAT are also used.

I found smartdoctor to be pretty accurate when i used an asus board (/shudder) verified with my K102 (digi thermometer) it was pretty accurate.

well I will give them a try tomorrow, up for work tonight so no time for in depth testing. why the shudder of ASUS boards?

Just a few bad experiences. Generally they're highly regarded boards. Personally i'd take a DFI or proven Abit. Just my preference.

Personally Real Temp is the only one I use for the CPU anymore. The creator does a good job explaining why... bascially no more incorrect issues with guessed Tjunction temps, as programs like Speedfan and Coretemp get it wrong when new CPUs come out.

+1 for real temp. It proparly reads the temps of my E4300. At stock volts and speed with tuniq tower coretemp at idle read 37c. haha. This real temp program told me 21c. Thats more like it.

I`m wondering why these things want to be so big-windowed ?

What`s wrong with a constantly visible option that`s just the size of the titlebar ?

Something older and innaccurate used to do it.

Dont want window, don`t want tray thing to hover over, don`t want innaccurate.

(Got Coretemp working on Vista, but it`s a hack-around thing that is hard to find on the `net, and I`m not distributing the means to do it.)
