Teach me/sell me on watercooling!

as the title suggests :)

the dealio here is that im probably gonna be building a new rig this summer! i was planning on just going with an h100i and being done with it, but the shroud of secrecy surrounding the legit watercooling crew kind of pulled me in . so...where to start?

Swiftech 220...MO BETTER! They take an Intel 3770K OCd to 4.6 PLUS connect TWO 680s and temps ONLY increase 4C from the H100i, Thermaltake, etc. WITHOUT THE 680s!!!!

greg,
great question, but custom water-cooling should sell itself, if you have the
budget and desire. there isn't any secrercy to it, heat goes into a block, block has
a coolant that transports the heat to a radiator and the heat is pulled out of the
coolant into the radiator; which is cooled by fans. thats about it.

your quest is for? better temperatures? quieter rig? aesthetics? all of it?
water-cooling can do all and more.

since this would be a new build, what core parts and case is planned?

Airdeano is right. We shouldn't have to "sell you" on it. You have to want it.

Watercooling improves Temps, esthetics, noise, everything...But ONLY if you do it right.

Also, if you are going to liquid cool your rig, don't go with a half-arsed solution like the new swiftech H220. Get all your own gear, and make your own loop, the way YOU want it, and trust me, you wont want to go back.

its gonna be a $2k build, 3770k equivalent with 8 gigs ram and 670 sli most likely. im looking to get 4.5ghz or above (i know this is hugely dependent on the silicon lottery), keep the temps way low so i dont hurt any components, but tbh noise doesnt mean much to me, as long as it isnt like a helicopter in my room. im really looking forward to the badass factor of it i guess.

Some guy comments to NOT buy the VERY LATEST technology and he's using a 6+ year old itty bitty rig! Pretty funny! Air cooled at that! Of course that is ALL that is required for his build.

Fact is...the 220 allows you to CUSTOM build your cooling system...water blocks for your VGAs...VRM...or THE CPU that you want which is considered Intel's heavy heater! 6 watt pump that is 5 times as powerful than other all-in-one solutions! Want to add additional radiator...can do. Check out the noise comparison...there isn't any noise!

Am putting my money where my mouth is...pre-ordered one and am taking my H100 out!
