Taipei or not Taipei (Computex 08)

Well the first leg of the trip was a little delayed as I should have left already and driven to Tom’s place on Saturday (31st) morning to spend a night reacquainting myself to Thame’s local hostelries and catching up with Tom but as I’d ordered the wrong size Coolercases shirts I had to wait in for a Saturday morning Special delivery so that Tom and myself didn’t look like a couple of clowns (Yeah I’d ordered shirts way too big) at Computex.

Our flight isn’t till 6.35pm on the 1st from Heathrow so there is plenty of time to leave Sunday morning and get ourselves sorted so no real biggy to be honest and plus it gave me a bit of time to get all the camera equipment (thanks Gilda) sorted and double check passports, tickets etc.

So after a 267 mile road trip (4.5 hours) I landed at Toms safe and sound, and a little later we sat in Heathrow sipping a couple of cold ones to celebrate our first Taiwanese trip and watching the hustle & bustle of airport life (praying our baggage wasn’t being possessed through terminal 5) for the 3 hour pre-check in, Tom and myself reflected on our previous trips and swapped our ideas for the upcoming Multiplay i34 mods we have both been commissioned to do for Coolermaster and I must admit at that point the realisation set in that my forward thinking and planning may not be what it should be as Tom seems to be well on with his game plan where as I’m still frantically searching for inspiration though I didn’t let that small in discrepancy get in the way and think I did a great job of bluffing not only Tom that I’d a sensational master plan for the Cosmos S but also myself!

(England to Taiwan)

Airborne at last and only 17 hours and a mere 3 hour stop in Bangkok for refuelling plus copious amounts of beers and we’re here……………oh yeah and the 9 hour advance in time………..and

(Taiwan to (Computex)

“The Eagle Landed” at around 10pm and luckily my man Tom sat next to a Taiwanese girl on the plane for 17 hours who, good to her word marched us out the airport and onto a taxi and 15 quid later we were sipping more cold ones at our final (well for the next week) destination.

So to cut a long story slightly short we were up and at it again first thing….well the crack of 11am and in a Taxi pointing towards Taiwan 101 which is right next to computex.

Obviously our first point of call was Coolermaster who repeatedly never cease to impress by having one of the best turned out stands and always pull in major crowds……..even though this time Tom and myself weren’t showing anything

Second port of call obviously was to, as promised seek out Bill Owens case on the AMD stand which we did.

With all guns blazing we hit the AMD stand looking for the “Golden Chalice” or at least speak to someone who knows Bill but to be honest we were absolutely flabbergasted to see PROJECT: PHENOM stuck in the corner of an immense stand not getting its just deserves but it probably goes without saying that AMD were competing against Intel so the business shenanigans inevitable overtook the real enthusiastic hard work of case modding………..very dissapointing but we did see it and paid our homage

Anyway there was a lot to take in so will let the pictures do the talking as always but will endeavour to follow up with regular updates as and when possible……

Some of those are seriously jaw dropping... That Phenom one is something else!!

And the paint jobs on the Raptor and FarCry2 machines is top draw!

Wow those rigs are hot...and the computers aint too bad either ;)

poor probably dont know whats going on other than they are supposed to look pretty

they win :D

If only there were cars, it would be a mixture of the three good things we have in this world. The detail on that farcry case is amazing, and that building is something else..
