I won't be going back to Synology whenever we need to upgrade. This is the most ass backwards policy I've seen in a long time.
The only thing Synology had going for it was easy to use OS and handled lots of things in the background to make it easy on inexperienced users. While I'm no networking guru I know enough to be able to get things I want done myself.
In the past year they've gotten rid of media codecs, lack of software support and/or updates, new products with the same very outdated hardware, and now a HDD restriction.
