Svchost keeps rocketing up to 100% cpu usage and it really lags my already laggy computer down! Its not just while normal use either! It insists on dropping my fps rate to unplayable levels and jitterynous (if thats a word).

I know its svchost because as soon as i get the problem, i ctrl alt delete and sort processes by cpu usage...its always at 100 when the problem occurs and settles down about a minute later...nod32 hasnt detected anything, neither has adaware, spybot, ewido or cshredder  arrrrgh

Services... it`d be much `handier` if the likes of TaskManager, instead of show svchost, said ServiceName(svchost) - then the usage.

There is a dos entry command to list all the services running in u`r pc, but I can`t remember it atm, however u can right click on MyComputer, select Manage and go into the Services thingy.

Therein u can look at the services running.

ok i found out its something by the name of Generic Host Process for Win32 Services lagging me down extremely (stuff taking over a minute to open) at random intervals

think thats a part of the networking side of things, remember customers pc's coming in with no internet access and that process what being blocked by norton etc.
