Super_PI Scores: Show It Off!

Wow, that's one tight score man. BTW, update your profile! I don't care if you're rarely on, but I like nice, happy profiles so I can drool over the amazing crap you have :D

yup, it started up like an angel after roughly 1 1/2 years of silence.

the only problem i have is with the network, cant access it from my amd64 but the other way around works.

and its still quiet as a feather despite 5 80mm fan and one 40mm fan.

its the quietest computer i have yet to encounter and it managed superpi better than i would have expected.

This is the best I've gotten out of my old A64 3000, still not done messing with my new 4200 X2 yet.

Just ran a 1mb in OS X and it really shows off it's highly optimized nix subsytem :)

21.807 seconds @ stock speed. Mac + Core Duo FTW!

What exactly does superPI test? I'm just curious. Does it measure how fast your CPU and RAM send info back and forth or what?

It tells you how fast your cpu can calculate Pi to a pre-determined number of decimal places. usually 1M for benching purposes

So It tells you how fast your cpu can crunch usually 1M decimal points of Pi. How does memory affect the test?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious lol.

Yeah memory bandwidth affects the test :)

Rofl, thank you for ruining my moment of happiness xD

Cuts my time in half. Anyways, I think before you had a dual opteron setup before. Have you noticed any differences from the switch? Besides the super pi steroids :D

wtf... 28 seconds flat?

woohoo, 26 seconds here i come lol. This actually is somewhat stable, well at least 1m stable :P

I just bought a new shuttle, the X100 which sports only 512Mb of RAM and a celeron M420 clocked at 1.6GHz and my score on super_pi (1M) is 42 sec.

Now I wonder cause I also have a shuttle SD31P with a pentium D830 clocked at 3.0GHz and 2GB or RAM and it only scored 43 sec (see my previous post in this thread)!!!

Is there something wrong in my SD31P conf that could explain this lower score?
