Super_PI Scores: Show It Off!

Yeah you should get some new ram if you're getting that score at 2.7 ghz. I got that at 2.3 ghz. What timings did you have. They could have fucked your score over.

Memory plays a major part in Super PI doesn't it?

Yes but if he's got it running that fast his ram should be decent enough to produce a better super pi score...

I'm having a hard time believing you got to 2.7GHz on stock cooling :bootyshak

The 3200+ winchesters easily make it there on stock. At 2.5 ghz, my load was only 53C on 6/8 fan speed and was 32-34C idle.

Memory seems to be important for superpi, i raised my timings to 2.5-5-5-9 from 2.5-4-4-7 and gained over a second.

My RAM should be decent enough indeed! It's Corsair XMS4000 TwinX, not only supposed to run happily at 500Mhz but also supposed to run well together in dual-channel and overclocked as a pair. The bastards won't go past 440 Mhz for love or money, overvolted at the mobo's highest (only 2.8V but still over spec) does nothing either... That SuperPI bench I completed with the RAM running below DDR400, lol.

What IC's do those sticks use?

Not sure, I haven't taken the ramsinks off to have a peek but I heard the chips that Corsair used were Samsung (or other) 3200 2.5-2-2-6 modules that were simply overvolted be default and given laxed timings.
