Please tell me ur not using the PSU that the Raidmax came with... if so you're asking for trouble and fried computer parts.

Get a new PSU before you burn your house down and youre forced to live in a cardboard box.

Nononono! I've been using an Antec TruePowerII 430W for a while now. There was an Antec SmartPower 500W on sale yesterday for $49.99 but my dad convinced me not to get it because I was under the impression that the TruePower could manage the load. I suppose not though... Do USB devices really take up that much power? Or is my PSU just randomly fragging out now?

Edit: Think I should get this...? http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merc...=M&Product_Code=100241&Category_Code=ps-antec

and what's the difference between that and http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merc...=M&Product_Code=100242&Category_Code=ps-antec ?

That antec should be able to handle the load no problem... But, if its starting to die on u then it could deffo be the root of your problems.

Is it possible that my mobo is controlling my fan? I mean, I thought the function for that was Q-Fan and I could've sworn I had that disabled. Does my mobo have another fan controlling function?

Well, it's been hooked up to the mobo for like a week now and never did that, then again it's never been this cold, so iono

yes psu's and motherboards alike throttle fans on que depending on internal case temperature

Peh, well, if it really is just the mobo, I'll try to hook up the new CPU 2day :D Sorry bout all this crap :p (Don't hate me 'cause I'm a n00b :D )

Well actually, now that I think about it, it only happens when I do something like play CS, so shouldn't the ambient temperature be higher when it happens?
