So I bought the Steelseries headset off Amazon, on sale for $70, and well, I received it about an hour ago. It's pretty comfortable... just the playback audio isn't really that great. Everything is too quiet even when I turn everything to max. Realtek audio on max, windows audio to max, the dial on the headset to max... yet when I expect my ears to fall off, the audio isn't nearly as loud as it should (it seems). As in when i'm watching a youtube video, the sound is just deadened and the sound quality just sounds bad in general. It's like the words that are said by a person in a video are going around my ears rather than into them. Does this happen to you?
Edit: Other than the quality sounding different, which it could just me not being used to it... the quietness is what bugs me. May be due to onboard audio? I came from using a wireless usb heatset, the creative hs-1200. If that's the case, then I guess now I know why people complain about onboard audio for quality.
Edit x2: Games sound amazing... music is still decent, just youtube is just horrid.
Edit x3: Not sure if by placebo effect... but they aren't as bad as I thought an hour ago? and found that the only reason of discomfort were my glasses.
Edit x4: There is a slight air/buzz sound in all the quiet parts of everything I listen to.
Edit x5: Spent a good 30 minutes trying to find an audio piece, whether it was a game or a movie or a youtube video... or music, but the audio playback is 5x better on my hs-1200 than my siberia v2.
Should I just return it and buy headphones and a standalone mic?
