Today Valve has just officially unveiled the newest iteration of their Steam Controller, which will be heading to Steam Machines and PCs later this year. Lets see what has changed.
As you can see in the pictures above, there have been two major changes in the steam controllers design, firstly the newer controller (Left Picture) has gained a traditional D-Pads and secondly has lost it's touch screen and has been replaced with a "Steam Button" as well as two additional buttons. The two trackpads still remain the main differing feature of Valves controller and that is unlikely to change in the future.
Personally I like the newly designed controller here from Valve, the addition of a D-Pad will enable backwards compatibility and the loss of the touchpad will likely reduce the controller's cost, that being said I am unlikely to replace my mouse and keyboard with one of these for gaming.
What do you guys think of this redesign, will their changes increase your chances of purchasing one? Please comment below.
