It's Bethesda so it's going to take 5+ years of patches and a dozen-dozen community made fixes.
Nah, the community will have it all fixed up in the first 6 months, untill bethesda decides to milk it and release multiple next generations versions that breaks all the mods.

I'm not convinced by the game myself, all just feels like a glossy magazine with no substance. I do not feel it'll be any good and as for 25 years in the making what a load of tosh.

The last thing Bethesda RPGs are missing is substance. As much as their engine smells of poo and bugs etc the content is always excellent. Which is why their games take so long to make.

They havent made anything good since New Vegas, the last epic game i enjoyed from them was morrowind and somewhat oblivion, all i see in starfield is a AAA version of no mans sky with some tacked on RPG elements, like they said 1000 planets well i'm expecting a few stand outs and a ton an absolute ton of repetition.
Less is more shame that isn't the case with there bugs.
I get that people are intrested but way too many games get hype and they fall flat on there ass, so i dont preorder and i don't get hyped much anymore.
still it'll be on gamepass so no need to even buy it.

Only thing that made them games good to many were the mods that were made for them, me i didnt like either of them, they sit in my digital box doing nothing like they are for most people, good games are hard to forget not sat doing nothing.
Idk sure they have made some okay games over the years but i'm betting starfield will be average and repetative.
take GTAV I hate the online aspect of it, but the single player i'm on my 5th playthrough thanks to mods, but in my view it was a decent game, it's just my take on things.
imho microsoft vastly overpaid for them.

Fallout 3 won game of the year. Fallout new vegas was by obsidian and it too won game of the year. Skyrim won game of the year. Idk if fallout 4 sis but it should have because people are still playing and streaming it to this day.
As for vastly over paying I totally and utterly disagree. I could not disagree any more if I tried.
The Fallout and ES franchises are two of the biggest ever. Mostly because they are the best most involving funny and clever RPGs I’ve ever played. The only problem they both had? The theme of them. Some hated fallout for the setting and the idea. I played Skyrim for about 20 hours when it came out and never ever played it again. Why? Because I’m not into spells and wizards and medieval crap. I prefer the very autistix design of fallout and that you are alone unless you choose not to be and I never bothered with companions.
So whether you agree to that? It doesn’t matter. Starfield adds another gender of RPG that will appeal to that sort of sci fi fan and even though I’ll buy it snd know I’ll like it way more than I liked Skyrim I doubt I’ll put over 8000 hours into it like I have with fo4, fo3 and nv.
Whether I get sucked in or not depends on how it is, but it’s silly to gripe about the company that along with the Witcher 3 devs have created the best RPGs ever made.

Oh and fwiw I’ve played Witcher 3 for about an hour tops. Not for me at all. However, just because I don’t like the genre doesn’t mean I would be daft enough to say it’s bad. On the contrary like I said it is one of the best RPGs ever made, and hey the medieval lot need games they like too.

I didnt say they were bad games imho they are average, has nothing to do with the theme, just cause a game gets game of the year doesnt mean it's the best game that is just mass market.
Also I wouldn't even put any of the fallout games in the same league as witcher 3 not even remotely, as for best rpg maybe some of the better ones in modern day but certainly not the best of all time there are many games that when made are far better remembered.

Once again with this you are speaking solely about yourself and your personal preferences without considering absolutely anyone else.
If you rate games on personal preference you will like very few. I could easily sit here and say based on my preference that the Witcher, Skyrim, heck any game that didn’t appeal directly to me was rubbish and not in the same league as what I like to play.
Unfortunately the whole world would disagree with that black and white logic just like I’m disagreeing with yours.
We shall let the sales do the talking.

yes of course i am it's called an opinion, you have yours i have mine and in my view this will be an average game. Learn to agree to disagree but like anyone i'll speak my mind on my thoughts and i'm not the one trying to change yours.
