Starcraft 2: A Trilogy

money money money.....its quite funny actually...when WoW had a serious contender in Warhammer on the horizon, 2 games details and another expansion for WoW were released. Blizzard have spent far too much time sat on there arses whilst the money from WoW subscribers roll in. WoW looks dated and even the beta testers for Lich king (which I know quite a few) have said that its a shame the engine won't be overhauled in fear of making it unplayable on people running WoW on a potato and a lightbulb (minimum specs)...so what do they do...split up another game to reap in 3x the profits...blizzard you've lost your ways...

and before the flames start i spent 3 years on WoW, and I am enjoying Warhammer very much so :D....(and secretly I'll still play starcraft 2....but only admit it after 12 pints of wife beater)

I'll be playing starcraft 2. Starcraft was a brilliant game, i hope they don'y mess number 2 up.

hmm, we shall see about there being too much stuff for one game. I'm guessing it will be three shortish games.

Its not for money its for extended gameplay. If Blizzard wanted money they would release it for each platform. This is to make each campain longer and more better. Multiplayer people only need a single copy to play with all 3 classes.

in theory...but there just gonna split one to 3 and charge for each...wouldn't be surprised if they brought in additional monthly subscription for online multiplay....lets face it Blizzard have had there eggs all in one basket for a long time...and now its coming back to bite them in there big wedged fat pocket :D...still doesn't mean i'm not looking forward to it...

I think speculating on a free blizzard account maybe a bit hasty considering where this thread started :D ....

I think this is to make money, too. There are other games like Dawn of War or Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars that have three campaigns in one game, and with C&C3 there are even individual cinematics with high-profile actors in each campaign. Blizzard should be able to easily put all three games on one DVD and charge the usual 50 bucks (euro or dollar) for it.

What part of each individual campaign (Terran, Pro****, Zerg) will be a story by itself do people not understand? Each individual one will take its OWN dvd...FULL..for each story. So no, unless you want less game and story they cant put them all on one DVD. Like said they COULD if it was a Blu Ray but then people would be complaining about that too.

Mguire, I think time will show. It's rather naive, with the many current gamer rip-offs going on (DRM, Bug-ridden releases, high prices), to believe that it'll be as cool as you suggested. In theory, perhaps. But maybe not in reality.

But as I said, time will show. I'd be glad to stand corrected.

time will tell, at the end of the day if there was no money to be made from gamers, then games wouldn't be made, well they would but it would be back to the old shareware days of the spectrum and commodore 64...I have no quarms about blizzard making money from its games, its just at what cost....and it sounds dubious to say the least but time will tell...oh and PP many games come on multiple disks....its not a new concept...hark back to the days of monkey Island coming on no less then 26 floppy's in a box the size of a cereal packet :D....
