I'm all for the costume bit really as I'm looking to armour up myself eventually .. it's the whooping and cheering at absolutely everything.. it kinda spoilt for Phantom menace for me when i went on opening. (although the film was meh anyway)

Gonna leave it on the 17th and go later... i'm a massive fan but i'm not sure i could be doing with the costume crowd wooping and cheering at everything in the film.

Yes and no. It annoys me but at the same time it's all part of the excitement. Plus I generally have to see movies twice to get everything out of them. The first time is just for the ride and the second time for the details. Go along if you can. I won't on opening but that's because crowds generally just %$# me to tears and there's too much going on for me to focus on the movie.

I got gold class tickets for Spectre so that's just me and 31 other people in the cinema. Way less traumatic so now have to see how I go with getting into a session for TFA.

Well your one of those rare people who like both normally your one or the other not really both, I just can't stand Star Wars.

I like nearly all things sci-fi. Especially if there are space battles involved.

Loved Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica growing up in the 70s-80s. Grew up a bit and whilst I loved the politics and suspense of the new series of BSG I loved the sex and guns and vipers more

Different audiences yeah but by no means exclusive of the others.

Haters gonna hate no matter what the movie ends up like. And likewise a lot of people will worship it because - star wars. A bit like Episode 1. Gets trash talked and is definitely the weakest of the lot but I still got teary when R2 showed up in his first scene and loved the duel of the fates.

Prometheus was flawed in so many ways but visually one of my favourites of recent times. Hanging out for new Alien by Neil Blomkamp as well.

The only things I didn't like about the new Star Trek were the annoying Mcaulay Culkin type kid (I guess that was the point of him tho) and the BS about Khans identity being secret. Was no need really. I don't even mind the 'oh we cured death but we're gonna forget how we did it and just store the secret donors away' bit.
