Star Wars EP VII Announced, for those who care and missed it. :o

"John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in Star Wars: Episode VII."

This will either be fantastic (now Lucas doesn't have his many chins on it, there is arguably a chance) or just a rebadged version of the star trek reboots.
either way starwars has been dead for some time.
 
Maybe because the original actors are so old now they will use lightsabers for walking sticks? :p I just hope they do a good job I'm a huge fan of StarWars

It may be good yet..probably come out animated and just have the voiceovers of the cast. :p

just look at the announcement last week. all of the starwars expanded universe canon is now non-canon. STUPID. its going to be like comics now. i stopped collecting graphic novels because it got too hard to tell where something fell into place in which universe. so now we effectively have the starwars expanded uni and alternate uni. dumb.

To be honest, i wish they would have picked a not very well known director for it, Eps I, II and III were great, were they as good as IV, V and VI? Not in my opinion, but did i sit up for like hours downloading the High res quicktime trailer for Phantom. you bet i did, was it amazing, it was, there were some things wrong with them, sure, but they were great all the same, cant wait for VII. VIII and IX. Bring it!

as for the actual following on of the original story, meh, but i think as long as the story is sound and and does stay within the realms of canon, and JJaba the lensflare gets some nanofilters, then we should all be ok.
