Star Wars Battlefront II will reportedly run at 4K 6FPS on Project Scorpio

I love this quote :D

"I already know Battlefront II will run and look better on Scorpio than the VAST majority of PCs on Steam"

Well the vast majority of PC's on Steams hardware survey are 5+ years old ^_^

That guy needs some common sense knocked into him
I'll stick with 1080p60 however. I don't plan on getting a 4k TV anytime soon

Yeah... Rendering in low then upscaling. I feel sorry for those guys that think games on consoles are the way it should be played. Will we ever see the day when consoles are no more?

Mouse and keyboard. Mouse and keyboard. Oh, and mouse and keyboard. You can use a controller, but mouse and keyboard. Also a lot of other stuff.

What this chap has said is like comparing a drag racing car to an average Toyota or Seat. Yes, it's faster than the majority of cars out there, but only in a straight line. That 20-year-old BMW that you love to death, it still goes well enough and does far more than run overpriced 4K Blu-rays, upscaled gaming with a controller, and Netflix streaming.

I have the feeling that it may well be 4k @ 60fps but on medium settings when compared to a modern PC doing it full tilt ultra just a feeling, but it's marketing for the mass's afterall.

You cannot really tell a difference with the upscaling. It's not just stretching the image. It's actually using checkerboarding to upscale the image, which is very effective. In addition console players sit far away from TVs. So even though the 4k native vs upscaling argument is differentiated by very little, when you sit far away you will not tell a difference. Even the games that run native 1440p and are scaled down to 1080p, still look very very good. And my source for all this is I actually use a PS4 Pro and tested with a 4k TV along with my 1440p monitor, but I only use my 1080p monitor as it's my only viable option and the 4k TV is not mine.

Your argument is sound, and there is wisdom in your words. But... All those things that they are saying are nothing than a marketing trick to cover the fact that consoles are rubbish. And they try to make it appear as they can actually compete with PC. Low end API (Vulcan, DX12) is not yet properly used on PC. And boy when they start using all that juicy hardware. You can not deny that the low end hardware in consoles is the reason we don't have photorealistic games today. It is the reason games look way worse than they should. It is the reason we have pathetic ports on PC. Console makers can brag all about 4K and whatever, but consoles are ruining PC Gaming industry. And every proper gamer hates them for that. And those are the facts.

They are not facts I'm afraid.

I don't think it'll be a good idea to get into this now, but I definitely don't agree that consoles are ruining the PC gaming industry or that we'd be at photo realistic graphics if we didn't have consoles. We've had consoles for many years yet throughout that time we've had amazing PC games so I also disagree that consoles are the cause of poor performing PC titles.

As SPS said, those are not facts. Rather that is the very common misconception pc gamers have about consoles because they think they know everything as PC gamers tend to always think because of the elitism that generally follows this crowd. Not being insulting, it's very common, but the fact is no everything you said is wrong.

As for you saying my last post was sound, it's because it is. I use it unlike most PC gamers, I can literally tell a difference whereas people without it just guess
