Star Citizen is now eight years old and is still far from its release

Like I said on Facebook this game started from nothing and is now actually enjoyable sure it seems slow but progress is being made and I can see the differences already, two more main pillars should be ready mid year next year that being Icache and Server Meshing, it'll get there and yes I too find it frustrating at times but I'm optimistic we'll get something pretty spectacular and never seen before gaming.

It's already something never seen before in gaming. The dude got more money than most AAA developers could ever ask for and the game's been stuck in development for eight years. There's really no excuse for such a ridiculous development time. The game doesn't justify it. Chris Roberts is clearly an incompetent project manager. Ambition, creativity and the penchant for perfectionism don't magically translate to good managerial skills. Who knew...

This will become an example of scope creap given to software development students and project managers. That's if it isn't already.

light speed

most games have been waiting all this time. not for me I have been traveling at the speed of light for for last 8 years so no time has passed for me=00=

I have had countless arguments back and forwards regarding this game with some good friends. They were all over the game and had payed some good money to back the project.

That was back when the 8700k was launched. They are still saying how good it will be.

I guess it will be finished when 16c/32t will be a norm for low end pc's.

What AMAZES me is how fans can justify this game still and keep a straight face while saying it.

How many times have you been told never to PRE ORDER.... a game? I wait untill its finished and then see if its good enough for a buy.

Remember back in the day when developers had to finish a game and that was it? No updates no nothing. If you f ucked up and did a bad game full of bugs - then it was a bad game with bugs and it stayed that way.

Showed what developers were good and who were not. I am old.

They have 315 Million Dollars worth of pledges/donations and all they have is a glorified tech demo, This is epic levels of mismanagement, I wouldn't be surprised if that number creeps up to 500 Million Dollars and it'll still be a glorified tech demo with no end in sight.

when you look it up on google maps, the result is not promising. :P

and best answer ever

Will star citizen ever release?
Not, at least, until you've got a better idea and an actual plan to deliver the product. Squadron 42, like Star Citizen, has no release date. Perhaps when CIG is finished with the roadmap for the roadmap, they could give us a timeline for the timeline.Jul 31, 2020

I think I found where the budget went though looking at their LA office
