Nice system, great work.

How high does the case temp get with the compressor in there?

G

Perspex around the compressor stops any heat getting to the card and motherboard,. ;) The 2x80mm fans blow across the HDD and then the 120mm fan on the pespex above the HDD blows over the compressor and out the front :)

This and the the 2x120mm fans on the condensor, which blow from the front and the air is sloped down the perspex which hits the 120mm fan then goes over the compressor and out the front :D Wollarrr, a In Phase system with no heat issues. ;)

this is a great job and with such high detail work

you both must be very happy with this unit

british phase has come along way

Thanks for the coments Baz,as you know i am very much like yourself when it comes down to Detail, with your help and insperation some months ago on S/S units and cascades have helped me and 4Qman, we have both come along way in a short space of time, we will look into making a nice simple S/S for myself with a few extra details when 4Q gets back from his holliday then onto some cascade action for the win.

Lovely finish to your project but I'd be really worried about the heat levels internally. No matter what you do to prevent the buildup the fact is you have a compressor kicking out heat inside the case, and that will effect your components over time.

Thanks guys for the coments, as most of you know my work i will not rest untill things are right, when myself and 4Qman thought of the idea we put it to paper and looked at the problems we might get with the heat from the phase unit, this is why we decided to make a clear perspects encloser around the phase unit so to contain the heat, having the 2x120mm fans drawing cool air in and blowing on the condensor from the front and the perspex enclosure slopes the air onto the 120mm above the HDD blows air onto the compressor and out the front of the case.then the 2x80mm blow onto the HDD from the rear which keep them sweet, and the 120mm at the rear and the 80mm at the top of the case pulls any hot air out from the M/B -GFX card.

The air flow Works really well and the temps are about as good as id get on the Danfoss FR8.5.

Very impressed mate - I know there is a lot of concern over the heat - from the looks of the job you have done there, I am sure if this were to be a problem then (for you guys) some simple mods (top and botton fans as an example) would eliviate such issues.

Kudos on a job well done maties - mighty impressive and worthy of a feature in CPC in my opinion.

Thanks again lads for your comments, 4Qman done a great job with the small Danfoss FR8.5 filled with some R404a, we would have loved to use the NL11 but it was just to big to fit into the case, anyway hear is a pic of some temps.

Wow thanks for the great comments guys. Really makes it all worth while when people that know there stuff comment with such great remarks.

The Phase temps in the above pics are with Low Ambient, around 9oC. As i had time to wait for the case i really played with the unit. I tryed a mix of R404a and R402a with sutiable discharge pressures.

The final Unit was stright R404a and the pressures are great. I got to know the unit well and i have it running to about as good as you can make it.

NL11 would have been the main choice but Space was a big big factor,

HEAT Issues

Well there isnt Any :p The perspex stops any heat from entering the case area. My temps are as good on the board and Gfx as they are when i was Air Cooled. :D

Thats a very nice rig mate... you've given me ideas to stick phase into my rig now :shhh:

Nice one mate, but do take into account that you will have to work out a way to stop the heat of the compressor affecting the M/B and GFX, also you made need to cut the case as even with the smal unit we fitted into 4Qmans case i still needed to cut the case and do some welding and filler work so that the compressor would fit.

Good luck with your project, i look forward to seeing what you are doing.

That's a nice rig! Did you bend/ mould the Perspex yourself?

Any chance we'll be seeing some good benchies shortly?

Yep done all the case mods ECT and bent the perspex by using a hot air gun, the sanding down and polishing the perspex to take any marks out.

I think 4Qman will be doing some benches when he is back from his hols, i know he has had this chip running at 4.3 Gig but as for any benches i dont think he has done any as of yet.
