SSD prices and performance

Derp?

I'm looking to get my SSD back from PC Case Gear, and they finally got some G.Skill SSDs back in, but I can not understand the price on them. They are the same price as the OCZ/Corsairs, but they're half the speed. Can anyone try help justify this?

No, I'm not asking for assistance in buying one, just asking why the price difference is so huge between the G.Skill and the OCZ Agility 3, which is twice as fast

I compared the following all are 60GB about the same cost of $150AU

G.Skill - $155

maximum read speed of 285MB/s and maximum write speed of 275MB/s

Corsair - $139AU

maximum read speed of 280MB/s and maximum write speed of 270MB/s

OCZ Vertex 2 - $129AU

maximum read speed of 285MB/s and maximum write speed of 275MB/s

OCZ Agility 3 - $149AU

maximum read speed of 525MB/s and maximum write speed of 475MB/s

G.Skill and Corsair are about the same around 275 read and write but its the OCZ SSD that claims to have Max read 525MB/s and 475MS/s Write, I really doubt that the OCZ SSD can do 500MB/s but the OCZ HDD is Sata 3 and the sata 3 is rated to handle these speeds, so the only difference is the controller on the SSD has been upgraded, OCZ must be able to price their Sata 3 SSD's similar to the sata 2 SSD's

You will need to look at some reviews to see how they preform.

Yeah I just thought the price of the Agility 3 was insane compared to the G.Skill. I have $180 credit there for my SSD that died, and now I'm stuck between getting an SSD, or something else thats nifty. Probably gonna go with the OCZ 120 that's on special though
