SSD for new build

I'm setting up for a new build, wondering what SSD to put in it.

At first I was considering using it to record gameplay to, but aparrently the things wear out too quickly to do that. So then just a boot and program disk.

I was considering the 840 evo 250GB. Is that one any good? It looks pretty fast and the price doesn't seem too bad.
I also looked at the intel 520 series, they seemed pretty fast too, but the price was higher than the 840 evo.
Some guy suggested the hyperX 3k 240 GB to me, looked alright, but is there anything I should look out for on that one?

Any other suggestions for my SSD?

Tbh you can record to a decent one, you'd be hard pressed to actually wear one out. it's all relative.

Samsung 840 Pro recommendation from me.

Agreed.
The Samsung Evo drives are also pretty quick for less money, might be worth it to check them out.

Any respectable brand will be more than fine. Corsair, Kingston, Samsung, Intel, Crucial, SanDisk, etc.

OK, thanks guys, I'll be settling on the 840 evo. I'll decide on the 250 or 120 GB models depending on how much money I have left.

I've been pondering the 840 EVO 250GB as a system drive as well. Currently I have an 80GB Intel X-25M r2 which is still nice and zippy, but it'd be sweet if I could maybe install a game or two on it.

Samsung have gotten some really good reviews lately EVO included. The only thing that puts me off it that it uses TLC NAND which has lower write re/write tolerance than MLC. To be fair the write levelling technology has apparently improved greatly and the lifespan of my current SSD which is 3 years old now is still showing 98% because it's mostly reads. But still I get that niggling doubt.

When you get your EVO post your opinions on it as I'd be interested to hear owner thoughts.
