G80's are 100% backwards compatible with DX9 games, wherever you got that info was mad bogus.

And I stand corrected about the PSU I guess, looks like they turned things around!

Ya, I agree with Frag, that'd be really sucky for Nvidia to not have them be backwards compatible. Also, yea they did turn things around they get the best reviews now (X2). Hope this helped you, striker! :)

by the way heres a little change to my parts so far im sticking the 7950gt until more 8800gts are realeased etc

Why not get a cheaper card for now, unless your rich? If that's the case, can I have something? :D Get an E6300! With the money you save you can put it toward more/better ram and they are about the same processor.

lmaoooo! cheaper card like what? and as for the processor im sticking to it lol

IMO, it's really not justifiable to buy a $579 card when you can have much better performance for $625, the decision is yours, but if you want a 7 series for some odd reason get a 7900GT for now and move up to the 8800 in a month or two. Also, PM me for my shipping info. ;]

You really need to realize that the USD is valued much higher than the AUD (no offense to you aussies, we get trounced by them UK people :p). What you're comparing as $579 against a "measly" $625 is actually more like $579 to $815. Now that is a MUCH bigger difference. Add in about $50 or even more for shipping over there and you got a number more like $880 AUD.

Still, if the $625 becomes 800 AUS then the 525 becomes around 650-750 AUS right?

;)

Edit:

It's 681 vs 811

I just won a XFX 7950GT Extreme and am very happy with it. Here they are about $300 and the 8800s are supposed to be $600 to 800.(but, my 7600GTs in SLI beat it)

not to mention you need Vista for the DX10 and there are no DX10 games yet.

By a less $$ video card, Get more memory, Buy a better PS ( Like a Mushkin)

and wait till the ATI stuff comes out to to see if it compares with the 8800..

Word on the streat is that Mushkin PSU's are absolutely horrible and to stear as clear as possible from em.

you wouldnt be interested in selling that card would you markkleb??

I have had 5 people so far want to buy the card. I dont know why its such a big deal?

My 7600GTs in SLI beat it and are cheaper, even my 7600GS in Sli was really close.
