Spending Big on SSD - Clueless though :(

Ok looking to spend roughly $1000 on a top performance/high capacity SSD.

I was looking at these models

Crucial M4 SSD 512GB which is roughly 850$ AU

OCZ Vertex 3 480GB SSD - 900-1100$ AU

Honestly from experience what would be the best option for me? Im limited when it comes to room in my case and i just want a no-fuss setup when it comes to SSD.

Bare in mind i have no intention of using HDD's in my build.

I avoid OCZ. For SSD I'd only go Crucial or Intel. M4 is a great choice. What's the price of two 256GB M4's? Here they come out within $1 of each other.

I'd second that OCZ's ssd's seem to of fallen from grace of late. iirc its due to their controller. I have 2 crucials the C300 variety and I love them

Im using the OCZ Vertex 3 120Gb and its a really good ssd. I heard rumours that some had problem with those, but i think it was only a bad batch. Keep in mind that all electronics can have issues with firmvare and other errors.

I can recomend 4 ssd's for you. The Intel 510, corsair force 3, the Crucial M4 and Vertex 3. All using the sata3

They are pretty mutch the top performers overall.

My vote goes to the Kingston HyperX which also uses the SandForce drive controller and also comes bundled with some pretty handy extras plus its no slouch.

Bit-Tech recently reviewed it - Kingston HyperX 240GB Review

....oh and imo its the best looking SSD
