Noctua today presented a new special edition of its award-winning NH-D14 cooler for the upcoming Intel LGA2011 X79 platform. Having received more than 250 awards and recommendations from the international press, Noctua's NH-D14 has become a benchmark in premium quality quiet cooling. The new SE2011 version is a special edition for Intel's soon to be released Core i7-3000 (Sandy Bridge-E) CPUs and comes equipped with Noctua's SecuFirm2 mounting system for LGA2011 as well as an exquisite NF-P12/NF-P14 dual PWM fan configuration.

I still want to see more of that triple rad prototype version they showed a while back though

Anyway, Noctua has announced that they are going to send D14 owners a compatible mounting set for 2011socket as long as you can prove that you own a D14, AND either a LGA2011 cpu or mobo.

The heatsink is also slightly larger with more surface area on the CPU it's not a massive difference but it still going to perform slightly better.

Also, yeah that's the triple rad version i'm interested in seeing

I just think the triple rad cooler looks weird

And the new fan looks like they work like the SS Air penetrators

Anyone know if the 2011 version comes with all the old socket mounts, or just the 2011 one?

Don't want to get the 2011 one if I can't shove it on an old socket if/when I WC my upcoming rig.

Hmmm. Might be better off getting the original one and claiming the free upgrade kit then...

Yup, from their info, it looks exactly the same as the original. I think it will be better to just get the original model instead. You'll get all the brackets you need for past and present AMD and Intel motherboards.
