Spec me a new PSU

My Hiper 670W PSU is going out for RMA on Monday and it will be around 5-7 days before I get a replacement so I need a new PSU.

I will probaiblly sell the replacement when I get it back.

I was thinking this

Corsair HX620

Corsair! I have the 520HX and it rocks hard. Corsair makes the best PSUs IMO

from the choice of those two I would go for the Corsair HX620 seems to get the thumbs up.

where did you order it from? i'm using the old OCZ 520w powerstream which does not have the 8pin 12v plug or the vga power plug so need to upgrade to use with the Intel stuff. cheapest i found is from overclockers for £88 + del.

Yeah I orded from OcUK. Would have went Scan but they dont have any in stock.

My PSU starts making insane noise when i go into 3d apps since I got the Ultra thats why Im RMAing it.

I got a Corsair 520w last week after having my rattly Hiper 580w for over 18 months, must say I noticed a difference in noise straight away with the corsair being pretty much silent and not changing much under load.

Not on your list, but I've got a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W which I picked up used for around £50, and its awesome - silent, modular, and very reliable so far

exactly the same situation except ive got a OCZ 850w gamextreme that i need to return because of a defective fan.

tho, im also thinking of upgrading this psu to one that is over 1kw because the ocz is having enough trouble with just one 8800gtx, and i cant imagine what would happen if i add another one. also i need a really quiet fan.

ive been looking around for psus that are dead silent and there doesnt seem to be that many. the best one i found was from silverstone but it hasnt been sli certified:

i was looking at the ocz 1010w version but the fan seems really loud...

any thoughts?
