Speaker problem

I just got the Logitech z-5500 speakers and when they are on and so is the computer they make a rumbling noise. Why is this?

Make sure the connectors are all plugged in correctly. Make sure no metal is in contact with any part of the speaker plugs. Try another set of speakers to make sure your audio works.

Onboard audio alone can cause this. Onboard audio + overclocked CPU can make it even worse. Get a real sound card :)

It could just be noise from in the room...

Check all wires are connected... and keep all sound wires way from mains plugs... :D

Might help. :yumyum:

I'm waging that this is the cause too...been there done that with an overclocked media pc that was running onboard. Dedicated sound card cleared it up pronto ;)

I fixed it. It was my mic. When the red mic chord was plugged in it rumbled but when i unplugged it it was fine. Always a stupid problem.

Agreed with Frag. When I OC my CPU (which in turn runs the mobo above stock) it makes the onboard sound even more like crap - even HD audio

EDIT: Ye faulty mics do it too :p

But if you even heavily OC your rig you'll find the same

I agree. Whoever uses Integrated Audio with Z-5500's needs to be smacked pretty well.

Go pick up something cheap, SB Live!, Audigy 2 Vanilla, etc. Anything is better than integrated by a long shot.
