Spare/folding rig

well i tried making up a spare rig which i could use to fold as well but put it all together and i can't get it to boot, it doesn't even beep so i can't even see the bios

rig specs:

mobo: asus striker extreme

cpu: intel e4500 2.2ghz

ram: 2gb ocz pc2 6400

GPU: asus gtx 260

psu: 550w enermax

i have tried clearing cmos, removing the battery, another graphics card, reseating the cpu and h/s

any ideas?

Probably the board. They are renowned for being pants. Good old Nvidia chipset reliability.

Maybe you can fetch yourself a cheap second hand 775 mobo so you can use the rig anyway

Check the RAM is seated properly and try it in another socket.

This happened to me, I had to drop down from 2gb of RAm to 512mb in my old rig to fix it

I had a E4500 and Oced its tits off

Great little CPU !

Make sure the 8 pin CPU power or 4 pin is in. I wish boards would beep if you don't.

I've tried two sets of ram and just using one module as well but no luck it is just broke given up on the old board now lol

Also did try both 4 and 8 pin CPU power but nothing still and I never got round to oc it as I still had the retail cooler lol

Mine went to 2950 before the EVGA board crapped out

3ghz easy apparently !
